Net Flicks

As with TV shows, I have also been holding off on purchasing movies on Blu-Ray.  This has been a testament to sheer will power.  So, here are some suggested movie titles:

Some story about a ginger

Some story about a baseball statistics

Some story about a bald guy

I'm sure there are more.  I'll post them as I think of them.

Watch it...

In anticipation of being easier to shop for, I have forgone my usual habit of purchasing seasons of my favorite TV shows on... well... Blu-Ray now.

I have not yet purchased the following:

Big Bang Theory Season 5

Any Season of 30 Rock

Yes, I am still 10 years old - Any season.

There you have it.

See, easy to shop for.

Sock it to me?

Okay, this gift suggestion goes in the complete opposite direction of the previous post.

I could use some new socks.  Dress socks.  Things are pretty much locked down in the sports sock area, but most of the dress socks that adorn the inside of my sock drawer have seen better days.  To wit, I actually wore one pair of socks that have faithfully given a decade of service.  To put that in perspective, I have lived in 6 different places since purchasing them.

The parameters I would share are these: size 10.5 feet; black/gray base with blue accents are safe; no need to play it safe but please no jack o'lanterns or Christmas wreaths

Much like Dick Nixon, I am incredulous that I just made this suggestion.

What I really really really really .... really really want

Is this:

Pure unadulterated beauty.

I had the pleasure of spending a few blissful moments in one of these while visiting my brother in Pennsylvania a few years ago.  The designers of the new Penn State Law School recognized the awesomeness of these and had 4 installed in the law library.  My brother referred to them as the "sleeping chairs."

If you would like to purchase one, here is a reputable vendor:  http://www.dwr.com/product/eames-lounge-ottoman-vicenza.do

I don't really ever expect anyone to get this for me.  However, since I'm dreaming, I might as well start by dreaming big.

Hi, my name is Dallin and I am hard to shop for

So.  It finally hit me.  I was talking with a member of my family when she said, "well, you're just so hard to shop for..."

The sad thing about this is that I had heard this same thing approximately 400 times before it hit me:

Apparently I am hard to shop for.

I believe that I'm actually pretty easy to shop for...  but my solution to this impasse was to create this blog.  Not only will I place the things that I need/want/could use/will die without, I will also post updates that express my gratitude for those who have met these needs, fulfilled these desires, saved my life...

Here it goes:  a window into the my material hopes and dreams.
